Summary: The various forms of social communication in Catalonia present numerous recent initiatives which demand to be brought together for the purposes of general study. The Centre d'Investigació de la Comunicacio (Centre for Communications Research) has produced the present survey of social communication in the 1980's in the hope that its global vision may meet the needs and interests of both researchers sand the general public.
