It was attended by participants from: Belgium; Canada; Denmark; Finland; France; German Democratic Republic; Germany; Federal Republic of Hungary; Italy; Norway; Poland; Spain; Sweden; Switzerland; United Kingdom and United States. A representative of the following intergovernmental organization was in attendance: European Economic Community. 2. The provisional agenda (UNESCO: CES/Ac.44/7) was adopted. 3. Mr. Y. Ferland (Canada) was re-elected chairman; Mr. G. Koncz (Hungary) was elected vice-chairman. 4. The Meeting had before it a preliminary study on the scope and coverage of a framework; for cultural statistics prepared by the UNESCO Secretariat (UNESCO:CES/AC.44/8). During the session copies of the following documents were distributed in all the official languages: (a) The report of a meeting of experts on the international standardization of statistics of public expenditure on cultural activities convened by UNESCO in October 1977 (ADS-77/STC-7); and (b) A document on the desirability of adopting an international instrument concerning the international standardization of statistics of public expenditure on cultural activities submitted to the twentieth session of the UNESCO General Conference (20 C/36, 24 August 1978). Copies of the following documents were also distributed: (a) Danish Cultural Statistics 1960-1977 ; (b) A summary of the report of a Nordic meeting on cultural statistics held in September 1978 (English only) ; and (c) A note on the availability of data on production and consumption of cultural goods and services in Finland (English only).
