Summary: The Family Factor is a guide for venues who wish to improve their family friendliness. It is based on an initiative carried out between January 2001 and May 2002, to pilot research and practical ideas across East England. The pilot involved six performing and visual arts venues in the East of England. It was instigated and funded by East England Arts and managed on its behalf by Eastern Touring Agency. The Family Factor is the result of that pilot. It provides a practical guide to making arts venues and events appealing to family audiences, and presents ideas and guidelines to help arts managers, programmers, artists, marketers and others to integrate family friendliness into their activities.
