The present study was produced at the request of UNESCO, in line with the following specifications:<br/>"entreprendre une recherche sur les méthodes d'évaluation des politiques culturelles menée dans le contexte du système fédéral de l'Autriche par les Gouvernements des différentes provinces, et d’autre part, une meilleure harmonisation entre ces politiques et celles poursuivies dans d'autres domaines notamment en matière d'éducation et de communication... La recherche tendra à identifier les méthodes susceptibles de faciliter les travaux qui pourraient être entrepris dans d'autres contextes en vue de l'évaluation comparative des politiques culturelles."<br/>These objectives are closely linked with the issues addressed in the programme of UNESCO which provides for the implementation of "comparative research and the preparation of evaluation methods in regard to cultural policies" <br/>Departing from a description of cultural policy structures in Austria, the authors of the study attempt to develop a model methodology designed to permit comparative studies of cultural- policy measures in several countries. New aspects of cooperation are derived from the currently practised coordination of cultural-policy measures. The emphasis is on the coordination of educational, media, social and cultural policies with the aim of encouraging to a growing extent artistic and cultural activities in the face of ever more stringent free-market constraints.(…) (Font: Introductory remarks)<br/> |
