In the last few years there has been a growing need for information which has been processed and obtained in a scientific way. Appropriate structures are being set up, and networks are being organized for the collection and dissemination of documentation. Research and decision-making are no longer undertaken without a system of information which is becoming more and more refined.<br/>If one considers the growing importance of research work in the field of cultural development and the assistance it can give to those responsible for cultural action, no efforts should be spared to make possible and intensify the circulation of the precise, specialized and up-to-date information. In this way dialogue between research workers and with those responsible for cultural policies will be facilitated.<br/>The excellence and depth of know1edge displayed in the indexing of this documentation have been increased thanks to the development of documentary languages such as thesauri. It is in this specific context that the International Thesaurus of Cultural Development published by Unesco. = <br/><br/>Le besoin d'une information traitée et obtenue scientifiquement grandit ces dernières années. Des structures appropriées se mettent en place, des réseaux s'organisent pour collecter et diffuser la documentation. La recherche et la décision ne ·se conçoivent plus sans un appareil d'information de plus en plus affiné.<br/>Si l'on considère l'importance croissante des travaux de recherche en matière de développement culturel et l'aide qu'ils peuvent apporter aux responsables de l'action culturelle, il convient de rendre possible et d'intensifier la circulation d'une information spécialisée précise et à jour. Ainsi sera rendu plus aisé le dialogue entre les chercheurs et avec les responsables des politiques culturelles.<br/>La finesse et la profondeur de l'indexation de cette documentation ont augmenté grâce à l'élaboration de langages documentaires tels que les thésaurus. C'est dans cette perspective de spécificité qu'il faut situer le Thésaurus international du développement culturel publié par l'Unesco. (Font: Prefaci) |
