520 ## - RESUMEN
Resumen Economists often think that the economics of art markets constitutes a too specialized field to be worth of their attention. This volume is intended to contribute convincing them that, in fact, the domain is open to econometricians, theorists, economic (and, of course art) historians, labour economists, students interested in the economic analysis of legal problems.

In his recent review article in the Journal of Economic Literature, David Throsby (1994) suggests three lines along which research in cultural economics could proceed: (a) use the tools of positive and normative economic analysis to study theoretical and empirical problems; (b) construct better data sets; and (e) focus on wider horizons than those of conventional economies, by including into the analysis views taken from history, philosophy, aesthetics, sociology, etc.

The various contributions in this volume try to cover a large number of issues, ranging from auction anomalies, the management of museums, the excess supply of labour in the performing arts, the economic analysis of law, investment in artworks, to what we can learn from history on the behaviour of collectors and on prices of originals with respect to copies. It will become clear to the reader that each essay takes into account at least one, but often more than one of Throsby's three suggestions. (Font: Introducció).
