Aquest llibre és una contribució teòrica i etnogràfica per a l'estudi del patrimoni cultural i natural a les zones rurals. Diferents autors descriuen els processos de patrimonialització i usos del patrimoni en el context de les polítiques dissenyades per protegir els espais naturals. Els documents d'analitzar les iniciatives per revitalitzar o recrear elements de la cultura local i el patrimoni rural mitjançant la creació de museus, festivals, artesania o aliments naturals.
