Resumen: This publication brings together case-studies of evaluation practice in three developing countries: India, Malawi and Nigeria. Each of these country studies, which form the first part of the publication, critically reviews a number of evaluation studies of development programmes and projects in each country with respect to evaluation designs, methods and techniques used in each one of them, taking into account the nature and goals of the projects and the overall development context, and gives concrete suggestions on more appropriate evaluation methods and techniques. The second part of the publication builds on the practical experiences in the three countries and suggests areas of evaluation methods and techniques in which improvement seems most promising.
