Elles gèrent un programme concret de "résidences d'artistes" en proposant à de jeunes créateurs, pendant trois à neuf mois, dans une vingtaine de villes européennes, un lieu de travail, de réflexion, de production et d'échange. La publication "Jeune artiste en Europe aujourd’hui" est réalisée à l'issue d'une manifestation du même nom qui a réuni en octobre 1994 les 139 artistes-lauréats du programme ainsi que les membres du réseau "Pépinières", dans le but de faire un état des lieux et un bilan des programmes de résidences européennes d'artistes et des concepts qui sont à leur origine. Le parti-pris de la publication est de mettre en évidence les questions et réflexions autour des thèmes "la résidence et la création", "la mobilité et les réseaux", "la formation et le statut de l'artiste". (Font: Editor). The "European Artists' Pépinières" is o project in favour of emerging artists. Providing support to the creative process, the training and the professional integration of artists through a mobility programme in Europe. It is a European platform for information, meetings, discussions and debates and above all a method of transnational co-operation. It runs an established programme of artists' residencies by providing emerging artists with time to reflect and work on artistic projects, produce works and exchange with other artists for o period of three to nine months in one of the twenty-seven European cities of the network. The publication 'Emerging Artists in Europe today" is o follow up to the event organised in October 1994 uniting a hundred or so selected artists of the programme as well as members of the “Pépinières” network, with the aim of confronting the reality of the Pépinières with the basic concepts of the programme. Through this document questions and ideas on the themes "Residency and creation". "Mobility and networks". "Training and the status of the artist" are examined and developed.
