Economic suport for the arts / edited by: William S. Hendon, James L. Shanahan, Izaak H. Hilhorst, ... [et al]

Por: Colaborador(es): Detalles de publicación: Akron : University of Akron, 1983Descripción: 145 pResumen: This is Volume III of four of the Proceedings of the Second International Conference on Cultural Economics and Planning which was held May 26-28, 1982 in Maastricht, Holland. The author first outlines six conclusions which he previously reached concerning economic theoretical rationale for public support to the arts and then discusses the ways in which the other papers in this work both support his own theories and offer new knowledge. He introduces the range of subjects for this volume as justifying economic support for the arts, comparative national cultural policy and critique of national cultural policy. Finally, he briefly summarizes the findings of four other presentations on economic support to the arts which do not appear in this volume but which have been published in the Journal of Cultural Economics.
