Resumen: European cities have become increasingly diverse in ethnic and religious terms. This changing nature of society creates opportunities for cultural innovativeness and international competitiveness. However, given the growing diversity in the local population, influencing and managing intergroup relations and developing intercultural policies have become major challenges for cities. Intercultural policies aim to influence relations between groups with different behaviours in order to achieve greater social cohesion in the local community. By looking at the major needs in intergroup relations, the responses taken to meet these needs, and cities’ efforts to improve attitudes and relations between majority and minority groups, this report aims to support the exchange of experience and learning between cities. Published jointly with the Council of Europe, the report presents successful practices and strategies from 31 cities participating in the third module of the European Network of Cities for Local Integration Policies for Migrants (CLIP).
